Let's be honest, there are very few spaces to process these things in a healthy, restorative environment. And often times, fear and gaslighting can lead to isolation and withdrawal.
We've heard it said: "Hurt people, hurt people." But..Inexperienced people hurt people. People with good intentions hurt people. Leaders without accountability hurt people. And oftentimes, it's much easier to run from faith all together, than to work through the emotions of religious wounds. It takes time, compassion, & acknowledgement to help others begin the process.
